Aweber is one of the best and cheapest autoresponders around. For just US$20 a month it allows you to set up an unlimited number of lists, and send out an unlimited number of emails to that list. Clickbank is the internet's largest seller of ebooks. As well as being a great place to sell your ebooks, it's also useful as a research tool to find out what's selling well. Use the link on the left to access it. |
| HostGator - Web Hosting |

We've tried quite a few web hosting services and this is one the best we've tried so far. It's stable (others we've used have dropped out, which means that people sometimes get error messages when they try to get into our site). It's also located in Australia, so it's easy to contact them by phone during work hours. And it's a great price. It's not the cheapest, but it's certainly not the most expensive either. This membership site software is much cheaper than the "heavy duty" versions like membergate and visiongate. While it doesn't have all the functionality of the others, it's a great place to start if you're on a limited budget. It even has a free trial version. This membership site software does everything except make your coffee! It's considered the premium membership software out there. While it's not cheap, we know a few people who have regretted not starting out with membergate as their sites have grown. Transferring to membergate later takes a fair bit of effort, so if you want a full membership site and you can afford it, this is the one to get.

This is "the other" membership site software. While it has pretty much the same functionality as Membergate, it's appraently not as well supported or as easy to use (comments from a friend of ours who has Visiongate and uses it a lot!)

|
Verisign is a "payment gateway". You need this if you are planning to take credit card payments online. You'll also need an online merchant account from your bank. Verisign is one of the only payment gateways that you can use in Australia, and which is compatible with Infusionsoft and Membergate. |

Paypal is a popular way to make and recieve payments online. Paypal now do recurring payments as well as one-off payments (unlike Clickbank), so you can use them for your membership site. This is another way to collect recurring payments online, without going to the time or trouble to set your own payment gateway and online merchant account. Their fees are low and they wire you money every week. Just click on the link on the left to access it. |

This is a useful research tool when you're deciding on a topic for a subscription site. You can find out how many groups there are on a topic. Most of the groups on this site are free to join, so you can see what sort of free info is available in your topic area too.
